Inaugural Soccer Combine at IMG Academies

Over 30 players attended the inaugural Under Armour Soccer Combine at IMG Academies in Bradenton, FL. Among the players in attendance, 3 players from the India National Soccer Team were the first athletes native to India to ever go through an Under Armour Combine. All players involved went through a comprehensive Combine360 evaluation testing their sports vision, integrative athleticism, foundational athleticism, sport-specific movement and will later complete their online tests to determine their communication skills, nutritional knowledge and character.

While some of these tests were new to the athletes, they put up some very competitive scores and had great enthusiasm throughout the day. There were many highlights to the day including the impromptu ball juggling skill challenge that broke out during a water break and interval testing that produced some truly tested the athletes’ endurance and character at the end of the day to prove who was in the best overall conditioning shape.  Players battled through the day of testing and soccer skills, to conclude with this true test of who wants it the most, creating a great atmosphere of players cheering each other on as coaches pushed them to go further.

The day began and concluded with players participating in soccer skill development with the coaches from the world renowned IMG Soccer Academy, bringing together the worlds of Performance Training and Soccer for the first time. A truly great day for all involved and it looks like a positive future for expanding combines to a wider variety of sports in the future.
